Its Getting Hot in Here...

So will pick this post up where I left off last night! I did notice that the other post is terrible written, but that's what happens when you are being charged E5/15 minutes!!!

So I had a lovely swim last night, and finished it off with a hot bath, and a comfy bathrobe. Got in bed at about 8:30pm and was sound asleep by 9pm, which was fine as I needed to be up at 6am! The plan was going great until I woke up at 2am and could not get back to sleep.... but never mind said I - I shall watch the football final which started at 2:30am. Now let me explain something - I detest football. I think it is a stupid sport, which grown men get far too emotional about. The only time I am interested in watching it, is when World Cup and the EUFA Championships are on. Imagine my horror when I discovered that no station in Singapore was airing the final, and had to "listen to it" on some radion station on the telly. So for the second time in the same championship I lost a bet on the champions...

Anyway - I eventually got up at 6:30am, and went doen to breakfast, which is unbelievable. There is a dedicated omelette maker!!! So I put him to good use. After this I made my way to Sentosa Island. I walked from the Hotel to the MRT (Underground) Station, which took 10 minutes. A 10 minute walk at 8am and I was absolutely soaking through... man the humidity is unbearable. Thanks for the advice on the wet wipes Shaz!!!

Made it to Sentosa Island, via the cable cars and went on the first adventure of the day - swimming with the pink dolphins. Was great fun, and we got them to do tricks and got to hug them as well. So thats where my itenerary went out the window... shock/horror!!! I did the 4D cinema as soon as I got back - basically its 3d with water effects and your seat moves. There were two choices... some water thing, and a pirate adventure... no contest there!

After my piratey adventure I went on the Luge, which is so much fun - you scream down this windy track on what is kind of like a go-kart. After that I headed off to Underwater World, which was my highlight. I got into the diving gear, and then into the tank - its the same tank that forms the tunnel that people walk under, so as we were swimming along feeding the rays and holding and touching various sharks people were watching and taking photo's. After that I went into the dugong tank and fed Grace the Dugong - that was absolutely mad.

After I came back from my underwater adventure, I finished the day up with a trip to the Butterfly and Insect kingdom - a little disappointing, and then two more Luge and skyrides. Took the Cable car back to the main island, got off at the wrong MRT station on Orchard Road, and discovered a 24 hour internet cafe, which is where I am sat right now - looking pretty shoddy and absolutely wrecked. Gonna head back to my hotel, have a swim and a bath and get some sleep - sure I have been awake for 17 hours at the moment, and actually feel tired. I can't even think what I am doing tomorrow!

Right - I should probably figure out where I am now...

And the Adventure Begins

And so it all started yesterday afternoon, when Louise picked a very nervous and panicky person up, to take to the airport.... We made it in record time, and I checked in no problem. Flight was uneventful, and I arrived in Heathrow Terminal 1 on time. I was delighted to discover that the friendly BA people were not going to make me endure Terminal 1, but shipped me off to be slightly less tormented by terminal 4.

Boarded the flight on time, I was very nervous this time, as my fear of flying had really kicked in, and as I was going somewhere, where I was unsure of everything, this made it worse. Boarded the flight, and had an aisle seat, which I don't particularly like, but at least I was on the left side of the plane, so felt a bit happier. Flight took off no problem, had an interesting dinner of fish pie, then took some sleeping tablets - thanks for those mommy!! I woke up at about 3am UK time to the plabne literally falling out of the sky! Terrible turbulence, but once again the sleeping tablets kicked in and I fell back asleep. Woke up to breakfast, ate, and then fell back asleep.

Arrived in Singapore ahead of schedule, and as I had got 10 hours sleep felt very refreshed. We were told that the temperature outside was 35 degrees!!!! Yikes! Thank god for Aircon! I was delighted to discover that my bags actually had arrived with me, and set off to play the ATM game. This did not work out very well, as I lost the first 3 rounds. So money in hand I went to get a taxi!

The only word I can think of to describe them - was a Trabant, just slightly longer at both ends... Terribly cheap - S$20 to the hotel.

The hotel is AMAZING!!!!!! Everything is remote controlled in the bedroom, it is huge and pristine, and in the bathroom there are so many toiletry products - even down to a razor blade. The mini bar is something else as well, so I treated myself to some cashew nuts - which are gonna cost me around 8 Euro's... but stuff it!

Don't have time to post pic's up yet, as the internet is costing a bomb as well, so may do that before I leave Singapore.

Am about to have some dinner and then go for a swim, I still haven't deduced how hot it really is, as I have been shunted from one air conditioned place to another.

Tomorrow is an exciting day... first day of the famed Shangri La breakfasts, and then it is off to swim with dolphins (pink), and dive with sharks and the dugong. Then I shall visit the butterfly and insect park, and finish up my day with a trip to the 4D cinema. Oh - and I may to the skyride and luge thing as well!!! All this is on Sentosa Island.

Mad to think that I am actually here!!!
